This was my WIP page! I’ve finished these socks – check out the full blog post with all my pattern notes, plus an interview with KnittyMelissa!
I randomly met KnittyMelissa in a Ravelry forum and had a great time getting to know her! She is a pattern designer and knitting instructor and has a cool YouTube channel – all proof of being an awesome human being, no? I told her I’d love to get better at colorwork, which is her specialty, so she encouraged me to try these socks she designed. I’m loving them so far!
p.s. I’ve only seen season one of GoT, but fully intend to watch the rest, so no spoilers, y’all! Let’s just say I know that winter is coming, which is why I’m knitting such warm socks!

Pattern: Winterfell Socks by KnittyMelissa
Materials Used:
- Knit Picks Stroll in Forest Heather and Dove Heather
- Cuff knitted on U.S 1.5 fixed circulars from Knit Picks – you’ll need two circular needles for the picot cuff method recommended in this pattern (which is magical, BTW)
- Clover brand wood 9” circular needles, U.S. Size 2, for the body of the sock.
- And just to make things crazy…. I did the heel on U.S. 1.5 dpns! (these my favorites!)
Heads up! I’m an affiliate of Knit Picks and Amazon, so I earn a commission if you shop using the links above. (It’s an awesome way to support this blog!)
