I’m really fond of Steph Wylie’s patterns for 18” doll sweaters and this one is no exception! The slipped stitch colorwork pattern is deceptively simple. It looks like I labored for many hours on this one, but it was actually a pretty simple project. I also really love the turtleneck collar – I was sure that it would be a pain to stretch over my doll’s head but it’s not bad at all.
I love knitting doll sweaters because I can get by with random bits of yarn I have on hand. I bought a value pack of Knit Picks Palette yarn many years ago and I discovered that it makes a great yarn choice for doll sweaters! It’s super affordable and comes in every color you could imagine. It’s 100% wool so not the most easy-care yarn out there, but doll sweaters don’t need to be washed so it’s perfect!
