Today marks the first day that I actually knit during my commute. I only got 1.5 rows done on the bus ride because I had a little trouble untangling everything when I took it out of my bag, but I’m still excited I finally got a project going. I need to learn how to knit standing up and also how to ride the T without holding on for dear life so I can knit on the train as well as the bus. Tall order.
In other news, Cressida and the cashmere arm cosies are being put away for the summer. The yarn is just too wooly-warm and I don’t want to ruin it with my sticky palms. Besides, it’s not like I’ll be wearing either any time soon. Though, I have to admit that I’m a little disappointed in myself for not having finished them by now. My knitting funk lasted pretty much all Spring and it’s depressing that I still have winter projects on the needles. Now I’m worried I won’t have any of my summer projects done until winter and it will be a horrific cycle. I must not let that happen – if for no other reason, because I have to use up my stash!
My bf dumped me this weekend and all of my friends have moved to New York or are about to move there to start their awesome new lives as high powered attorneys. And when I say “all my friends” I’m not being dramatic – I never made any friends in my class year at school so everyone I ever associate with has graduated and fled the Red Sox Nation. So it’s just me and Roxy from here on out. But to look at the silver lining, at least this means more time to knit. And knitting makes me happy. And yarn shopping is better than sex, don’t deny it.
If you think yarn shopping is better than sex, I’m afraid you may not be doing it right. ๐
Oh, come on, let me comfort myself! Ha ha.
Firstly, which part? The shopping or the sex.
Also, If you can knit on the T, get pictures.
Wow. Not only would I look like a psycho knitting on a jam-packed train – I’d have the added eccentricity of asking someone to take a picture of me on their phone and pix it over. (Wow – what a great way to hit on someone – I’m gonna remember that… though maybe not in the psycho knitter context…)
