Heads up! This post contains affiliate links which means I get may get a commission if you purchase something based on my recommendations here. (It’s an awesome way to support this blog!)
If you want to read the post I wrote sharing the final version of these socks, check it out here. Otherwise, here are my WIP notes:
There’s nothing like a pair of Monkeys to show off some beautiful hand-dyed sock yarn by Craftily Dyed Yarn! This dyer holds a special place in my heart because she is one of the first indie-dyers I supported.
This colorway is called Stellar. I’ll be honest, I was so psyched about the colorway that I didn’t realize I ordered it on the Alpaca base, which isn’t my fave for socks. It would have made a beautiful shawl, but I cast on socks without thinking it through. The good news is that you can order it on the Classic Sock base. I just needed to slow down… lol. It’s okay, though: a little halo never hurt anyone.

Materials & Items in my Photos
- I’m knitting these on ChiaoGoo 5” bamboo DPNs in US Size 1.5. (I’m a five-inch-or-die kind of DPN girl.)
- The cherry-stained wood heart sock blockers are super old, and the maker closed up shop; the lighter-colored blockers with the lace cutouts and the heart at the top are from the amazing MlynJedrow. She also sells all-over heart sock blockers and, if you ask nicely, you may be able to get them with a darker stain. ๐
๐ MlynJedrow only sells on Etsy. If you see her designs sold elsewhere… aka that super sketchy too-good-to-be-true app… please do not buy them. They are being made without her permission.
Notes & Such
- I subbed in a Fish Lips Kiss Heel (aka a FLK Heel) because I live in fear of variegated yarns pooling at the gusset of my socks. (More on that here)
