Mini Hippo Lovey Blanket for a BUILD Baby!

I made this adorable lovey blanket in our BUILD colors for a coworker who just left for maternity leave.  I wanted to knit up a little gift for her, but I didn’t have a ton of time, so this was the perfect project. The pattern is part of the Mini Lovey Blankie Menagerie collection by Lorraine Pistorio and the hardest part was picking out which animal to make! There were so many cute ones!

Knitted Baby Gift Hippo Lovey Blanket

As usual, I knitted this up in Knit Picks Comfy yarn which is my absolute favorite yarn for baby stuff. I had enough white and grey in my stash to make the hippo and blanket. The BUILD colored stripes are just random acrylics from from the box of chaos.  Handknit Baby Blanket Lovey Blanket

As you can see, I embroidered the eyes instead of using safety eyes. Despite the name, I’ve read that those aren’t all that safe for babies, so I just didn’t want to risk it.
