Planet of the Monkey Socks

Last February I went on a little Esty shopping spree and ordered this gorgeous sock yarn from a dyer near me in Braintree, MA… her label is cleverly named: You Knit, I Dye.  I loved it when I saw the skein online, but I had no idea it would knit up so beautifully — if I had, I would have purchased two.

Handknit Socks

I decided to knit up a pair of Monkey socks with this beauty and, since the colorway is called “Earthling,” I amused myself by nicknaming this project Planet of the Monkeys.  As I was making these, the pretty colors of the yarn reminded me of my friend Emily so I knitted them up in her size, though, I have to admit, it’s going to be hard to part with these!
