I’m working on this baby blanket for a friend of mine and I absolutely adore this color! It’s not your traditional pastel blanket – I think it’s got a ton of personality.
The yarn is Knit Picks Comfy Worsted in the Honey colorway and this is my absolute favorite yarn for baby blankets. The fiber is 75% Pima Cotton and 25% Acrylic: the cotton makes the blanket incredibly soft and drapey, but the acrylic keeps it from stretching out too much like cotton wants to do. You can also throw it in the washing machine and dryer, which is critical for baby blankets and it doesn’t pill.
So many hand knit baby blankets end up being like little heirlooms that just drape across the side of the crib all the time. I love this yarn because it’s going to knit up a blanket that is meant to be used – and isn’t that what we want?
