UFO: Tropical Clutch

UFO alert!  I’ve had this project on my needles since May of 2013.  It’s about 3/4-way finished, but I’ve just never been motivated to complete it.  I know I will never ever use this – I’m not much of a clutch person.  Can’t say exactly why I started it in the first place – I guess it was just so pretty in the picture that I felt compelled to cast on for it!  But this is probably why I’ve never finished it.

It was a fun project to get started knitting with beads, but working with the wood beads isn’t the best experience – they aren’t smooth enough on the inside so they are hard to slide around on the yarn.  In fact, I can’t even frog it and re-use the yarn because it’s so damaged.

So, I have two options: (1) thank it & let it go; or (2) just cast off now and see if I can make it into a pouch or something.  I think actually finishing it according to the pattern is off the table. Not only do I not want to, but it’s been so long since I worked on it that it’s unlikely that my gauge would be a match if I try to pick it up again.

What do y’all think I should do?

I love the texture! I’ve not tried knitting in beads or sequins yet but it’s definitely on my to-do list ?

I love the texture too! Just wish I’d picked a project I would actually use, haha.
