Words can’t express how much I love these socks!  The lovely cable pattern paired with this shimmering pink yarn feels so romantic! And the secret truth is that these socks are super easy to knit – it would be an excellent pattern for someone trying cables for the first time.

The best part is that you don’t need a cabling needle for these socks.  The large cable in the center matches up to the break between the dpns so you can just move stitches between the main needles and the two smaller cables on either side are the perfect opportunity to practice cabling without a needle!  (It’s not as hard as it sounds!  I highly recommend Patty Lyons’ Bluprint class Explorations in Cables for great instructions!)

The cable pattern is simple enough that you can memorize it so you can knit without a chart and you can even skip the row counter if you are good at “reading” your knitting.  (Or if you use a cheater safety pin to mark the last crossover row like I do!)
