I bought this lovely Lorna’s Laces Solemate yarn as a little Christmas gift to myself last month and have been itching to cast it on! It tried to be a pair of Intertwined Socks but I got a few inches into that project and I just wasn’t feeling it. (I think that pattern wants a yarn with a little more twist to it to make those cables pop).
Anyway, I was thinking about the name of the colorway – Courage – and I realized that would be a great match for a pattern I’ve knitted before – Cookie A’s Girl On Fire socks. So, I’m calling these socks “Brave Girl”. Here’s a peek at what I have so far:
And, just for funsies, here is my “reference photo” from this little photo shoot. As you know, I’m working on improving my photography and I learned about this thing called a Macbeth ColorChecker that can help you set the white balance on your photo. It turns out that those things are wicked expensive, so I just printed one up on some cardstock to test out the whole concept. It’s a pretty neat tool… probably not $79 worth of neat though…
