Steve the Stitchosaurus

I was super excited when FreshStitches released the pattern for Spikey the Stegosaurus and I bought it right away, but then it took me forever to actually make this cutie.  I can’t make any more amigurumi friends for myself because I have too many, so I was waiting for an occasion to make this guy for someone else – and then a friend got preggo!  Yay!

She named him Steve the Stitchosaurus, how cute is that?  Meet Steve:

notes

  • Frogged this guy several times because I kept messing up on the asymetrical increases; then when I was almost finished with the body, I decided that the stripes were jogging too much and  hated it, so I frogged again and reworked it with joined rounds instead of spiral style.  It’s still not a totally invisible color change, but it’s much better.
  • Since this is for a baby, I did black felt circles for eyes instead of plastic eyes.
