I have been watching my Craftsy course on knitting toe up socks this morning. I’m really loving it. The first hour or so has a lot of great introductory material including some fun historical analysis of sock knitting and TONS of info about yarn…. I never knew there was so much to know about sock yarn!!
Anyway, I also did the first lesson on how to knit a moccasin toe. Observe:
Pretty neat, huh? You use a provisional cast on to make this toe, making this my first (successful) provisional cast on in addition to my first moccasin toe.
This was pretty easy to knit, but in the end, I’m not sure if it would be my first choice for my next pair of socks. As you can see, there is like a little “ridge” on the top and bottom and I’m afraid it might rub if it works its way under the tips of the toes.
I LOVE this toe! I've never knit moccasin toe before!
I had never ever heard of a moccasin toe before, but it's a pretty neat little thing!
