This scarf is my longest running WIP and, to be honest, I don’t know if I’ll ever cast off because it is so much fun to knit! I started knitting this in 2016 and it’s based on the pattern “My Favourite Things” by Jill McGee, but it incorporates colorwork charts from all over the knittingverse – each representing something that makes me smile.
The whole scarf is worked in worsted weight acrylic except for one row in the rainbow on one of the first motifs in the scarf and a thing-that-shall-not-be-named caused that yarn to break so I’m going to cuff off that part of the project, which is why the pink cat motif appears twice – I added it back later in the project.

Project Details
Pattern: ‘My Favourite Things’ Infinity Scarf by Jill McGee (free pattern on Ravelry)
Yarn: ALL THE ACRYLICS!!! Lots of worsted weight Brava, Simply Soft, Vanna’s Choice, and some good old-fashioned Red Heart!
Needles: U.S. Size 7 (4.5 mm) — I started on longer circular needles and worked this using magic loop but about 9 years into the project I discovered that I could make my life 1000% easier by using 16” circular needles. 😂 🤦♀️ Now I’m using Knit Picks 16” sunstruck fixed circulars and the pointy tips and wood material are perfect for this project!
