Weekend Wrap Up

I did a little work on my sock(s) this weekend – but very little. I’m basically finished with the leg of the sock – next time I work on it I’ll start the heel! AH! That’s where the anxiety kicks in.

Other than that – I did nothing productive this weekend – on my knitting or much anything else. (Oh, and did I mention I made it a four day weekend? Naughty!) It was a weekend of excesses for me, but that didn’t include knitting, because I was in the mood for sin.

I have to get bluebell and Sheldina off my needles! If I don’t get an FO this month I may die.

I just finished the heel on my first one (not boasting – a million other things languish undone) and the heel flap and turning were a cinch. You won’t have any problem, I’m sure. Where I ran into a glitch was picking up the stitches for the gusset. Easy enough (if you’ve remembered to slip the first stitch every row – I think I goofed there too) with big old stitches, but trickier with the little tiny ones. I’d gone three rows past the pick-up point when I realised one side was just ugly. Working backwards was no fun at all, and it’s now got tink-head, but still looks better.

If you haven’t come across it already, this tutorial is brilliant. Really helpful to see what it’s supposed to look like at every stage.
