Snow Day Knitting

Yesterday was a lovely SNOW DAY!  Yay!  I spent the morning working from home, but the afternoon was all mine to do whatever fun indoor activities I wanted.  So, of course, I got in some major knitting time!!   I recently enrolled in the Craftsy class, Stranded Colorwork: Basics and Beyond because I want to add fair isle to my set of knitting skills, so I figured this would be a good place to start.  I spent a good chunk of the afternoon yesterday just practicing stranded colorwork on a swatch.  I want to do it two-handed, picking the yarn in my left hand and throwing the yarn on my right, so that’s what I have been practicing.  It’s not as hard as it sounds.  I also practiced making floats using this method.  It was lots of fun.  The Craftsy class has you make some mittens to practice these skills, so I ordered some yarn yesterday and I will be able to start on the mittens just as soon as it arrives.

After playing around with my swatching, I also did quite a but of work on my Turmeric socks.  I finished the leg and started on the heel flap.  It was a little weird picking up this project after so long, but I eventually got in the swing of it.

In all my snow day fun, I failed to take pictures of any of these WIPS, so there is no art for this post.  My apologies….
