November Knitting Goals

This probably should have been the first post this month, but oh well, it’s coming at your three days late… some of my knitting goals for November.  Oh, and I reserve the right to amend this list at any time.

1.  I want to be done with the Hexacomb Cardigan.  This has been a WIP since 2008 and has actually been finished for several months now, but I still haven’t done anything with it.  It’s just sitting in its knitting bag…. and I want it out of the bag and into the closet.  I honestly don’t even remember if I have blocked this or not, but I should probably figure that out.  Then I should take some nice pics to show off here, then put it away until I can actually wear it this Spring.

2.  I need to finish the Sugar Maple Shawl.  This is my high priority knitting project for the month because it must be done by mid-December…. and there are a few other knitting/crafty things I would like to get done before Christmas, so I’d like to not leave this until the last minute. (I’ll post more about this shawl tomorrow!)

3.  I really should go to a knitting group.  I have wanted to join a knitting group for a long time, but there hasn’t really been one that is geographically convenient for me.  A couple of months ago I learned of one that is just 2 train stops away from me, so I would really like to go check it out.  They meet at 7:30pm, which is sort of late for me, which is why I haven’t gone before now, but I think I should probably just suck it up and go.  Maybe November will be my month for this!

Great goals! I agree with goal #3 – I really need to find a local knitting group as well. Spend far too much time knitting on my own and interacting with other knitters online. It would be nice to have some in-person interaction with other knitters.

I agree. I have lots of knitting friends online but almost none in "real life"! Despite many attempts, I can't seem to convert my friends to knitting, so I guess I will have to try to find knitters and convert them into friends! ๐Ÿ™‚

Do it! Joining my knitting group 18 months ago was one of the best decisions every. New friends, new ideas, new yarns to drool over.

I've been wanting to join a knitting group forever!! One day, when I build up my courage!

Now I have to search that Hexacomb Cardigan…I'm picturing a sweater that's made of hexipuffs like the beekeeper quilt ๐Ÿ™‚

No, but that would be insanely AWESOME!! It's just a stitch pattern that arranges the knits and purls into a hexacomb pattern. It was simple to knit, but ended up in UFO land for a long time due to my fear of finishing…

I was in a knitting group when I was in law school and it was really fun! But then I graduated & moved and there just hasn't been another one that is super convenient for me to go to. I'm excited about this one though… I really have no good excuse not to try it!

I'm sort of an introvert, so joining a group full of strangers is definitely intimidating, but it helps knowing right off the bat that we all have something in common. We should both do it!

I miss being part of a knitting group. It's really worth it if you find the right one!
